The Digital Hure attempts to play to the juxtaposition of 1900’s French machinery and modern parametric design. As we find ourselves inundated with the digital and always looking toward the future, the Digital Hure is an ode to the past with the optimism of the future. The patterns that are revealed through the design process express a modern digital aesthetic, and move one of our most successful products into a new era. Within the frame work of our timeless classic Hure we set out to use the mathematics of the “Delanay” and “Voroni” tessellation to reduce weight while maintaining structural rigidity. By removing approximately 45% of the material from the face we could achieve a 20% weight reduction of the product. The Digital Hure represents the youthful reinvigoration of our designs as we explore new digital processes.
